“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”-John 1:11-12
As we continue our meditation today on the topic: ‘A Seed shall serve Him’ we shall focus this second part on:
THE PROPHESIED SEED & CHRIST’S FIRST ADVENT
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”-John 1:11-12
“Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name-Acts 15:14
Among the many things Christ’s first advent accomplished in the eternal program of God were the following:
- The raising of the seed prophesied by David (To be accounted to Christ for a generation).
“A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation”-Ps. 22:30
“Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he saith… a body hast thou prepared me”
-Heb. 10:5
- The empowerment of the seed to accomplish God’s purposes.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…”-Acts 1:8
“Behold, I give unto you power…over all the power of the enemy…”-Luke 10:19
The empowerment of the seed company of Christ was and is still meant to serve 3 purposes:
- To overcome…in all the areas that he, as the pattern Son overcame
- To represent him on the earth-Luke 10:9; 2 Cor. 5:20
- The make a difference on the earth and among men
(In character, power and glory)
- The commissioning of the ‘first fruits’ of the seed (To begin the work of delivering the groaning creation)
-Luke 10:1-19; Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:17-18; Romans 8:19-22
The seed that Christ, in his first advent, came to seek, raise, empower and release to deliver the groaning creation, is a plural (Many-member) body of committed saints of God, committed to fulfilling the purposes of God for the closing days of the Church age and also of the coming Kingdom age:
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God” -Rom. 8:19
“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron…”-Rev. 12:5
“…they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they shall reign with him a thousand years”-Rev. 20:6
God did and still has an on-going program for the preparation of the seed to fulfill his plans and purposes.
THE PREPARATION OF THE SEED TO FULFILL GOD’S END TIME PLAN
There are 2 sides to this:
- The preparation of the individual believer, who is a part of this seed.
Is every believer automatically a part of the seed that shall be accounted unto Christ as his generation?
Not really.
Every believer has a potential and a great opportunity to be a part of the seed company; but the scripture does give condition:
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work”-2 Timothy 2:20-21
The pre-requisites for any believer to be a part of the spiritual seed to be accounted to Christ as his generation are:
- To purge oneself
-From sins, filth, carnality and self.
This has to do with daily and regular self examination-2 Corinthians 13:5.
Nothing must be taken for granted. Even, the little foxes matter!
A whole lot of Spirit-filled believers still live in sin, envy, bitterness, and so on.
The seed that shall declare the generation of Christ is a pure one.
So, any believer who gives room and excuses for ‘little sins’ may be a part of those that are Called–kleto-(invited) but not part of the Chosen-eklektos-(picked out or selected)
- To be alive to God and his divine purpose-2 Corinthians 5:15
-There is a spiritual phenomenon called ‘Divine Purpose’.
Many believers are unaware of this spiritual phenomenon, and even some that are aware do not consciously and practically address it in their lives.
Truth is: Many believers who are born again, and even filled with the Holy Ghost are ignorant about God having a purpose to accomplish through them and on the earth. Few believers who even are aware do not really give ourselves unreservedly to be a part of, and to fulfill God’s eternal purpose.
- The preparation of the corporate seed-(As a plural body).
“And God hath set some in the Church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers…” -1 Corinthians 12:28
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfection of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ …Till we all come in the unity of the faith, …unto a perfect man…unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”-Ephesians 4:11-13
There are 3 things God seeks and is working towards, in the corporate seed that shall declare the generation of Christ (And the 3 are inter-related):
- The unity of the faith
- The coming unto a perfect man
- The coming forth in the stature of the fullness of Christ
God has already put measures in place to accomplish these; and one of the measures of God is the birthing of the ‘governmental or 5-fold ministries’ in the body of Christ.
THE UNITY OF THE FAITH: The unity of the faith is a spiritual phenomenon, which God has provisions to birth in the body of the corporate seed, in order to fulfill it’s mission as the generation of Christ. The ‘5-fold ministry’ is undoubtedly, God’s tool to accomplishing this: The reason we need to seek the Lord for the birthing and the maturing of these gifts of men in our generation.
THE UNITY OF THE FAITH AND THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT:
The unity of the faith: This is the spiritual phenomenon of God’s people coming to the same position and understanding on matters of the faith and doctrine of Christ. It is a gradual process, which is already on; but shall accelerate, as the gifts of men raised by God in the Church function in maturity. The unity of the Spirit: This is the spiritual phenomenon of God’s people living and relating as brethren, in tolerance of one another; even where differences abound that are not based on the fundamentals of the Christian faith.
The unity of the Spirit constitutes the wheels that shall keep the Church going before arrival at or attaining unto the unity of the faith.
Beloved, as we come to the end of today’s meditation, we need to all look to the Lord as to our portion in this seed that shall declare Christ and be accounted unto him for a generation.
We need to apply ourselves diligently unto those elements that constitute our preparations to be a part of this great seed; namely, purging ourselves of sins, filth and self; and being spiritually alive unto God and his divine purposes for us and the earth.
